About PhotoSale

PhotoSale connects people who have authentic photos of real places with publishers and organisations that need them.

Why it exists

Useful local photographs can be surprisingly difficult to find. Large libraries may contain famous landmarks but lack a current regional station, small-town main street, accessible entrance or local festival.

Who may contribute

Local residents, travellers, hobby photographers and professionals are welcome. You do not need a portfolio. A clear, accurately described phone photo may be more useful than a technically perfect but generic image.

Where it begins

PhotoSale begins with Australia, Lithuania and Latvia. It works with LithuaniaLinks and LatviaLinks, two independent practical travel guides that need authentic photographs of named places.

Ownership

Contributors keep copyright. PhotoSale does not take ownership. Nothing is published until the contributor approves the final listing.

Future scope

These three countries are the starting collections. The architecture supports more countries later, but PhotoSale does not claim to cover Estonia yet.
